In rereading the sigils, #242 says "Understanding is superfluous to surrender" and #268 says "Understanding yields to surrender". Is there some contradiction there?
242 means that you can surrender even though you don't understand a situation; surrender should be our primary way of life, transcending the mind's obsessive need to understand in order to control.
268 goes one step further, and affirms that the need to understand releases its grip, so that surrender can take place.
